adventures in laa laa land

Me and the husband's fifth wedding anniversary was on the 8th and Mother's  Day is today so we celebrated it all as one lump holiday this weekend. I think I shall name this multi-purpose holiday
"We Got Married and Weren't Trying to Get Pregnant But it Happened Twice Day"
Ah, c'mon, I'm just kidding.
Anywho we went to Sci-Port Discovery Center in Shreveport, LA (about 75 miles away) and then on to the Louisiana Boardwalk for some food and to find my mom a Mother' Day Gift. Sooooo.... here are some pics from our special holiday... what did I name it? Something like "I Can't Take Birth Control Because it Makes My Boobs Bigger Day"? Something like that.
Joking, folks. Not about the birth control thing though... that's no joking matter.
Don't you dare laugh.

And then at the Boardwalk.
I finally had my first Bloody Mary!!

Shameless bathroom selfie.
Happy Mother's Day to all you moms, mom's-to-be, fur-moms, dad-moms, etc...

ganksthiving

It's Thanksgiving here in the States. It's definitely one of my favorite holidays. Anything involving food had my heart. Right now, I'm full, I'm lethargic, I feel gross and I need a bath so here's a brief post about the day.
Thanksgiving dinner (lunch, really) was held at my mom's place in Atlanta, TX. Why do we eat Thanksgiving dinner so effin' early? 11:30am is not exactly what I call dinnertime. We were running behind schedule so I whipped up a green bean casserole while I did my hair and makeup and had to throw on whatever didn't need ironing so we could hurry up and hit the road.
I set my hair on curlers last night. It started off looking great, but it just wouldn't keep the volume (as usual) and I even sprayed the dickens out of it.
Here's my last remaining grandparent. My granddaddy will be 90 in March, stands well over 6-ft and when he was younger he looked just like Nat King Cole.
Black Friday deal hunting.
 Mom and sister selfie.
Oddball in the kitchen.
 Niece, sister, River and Husband.
Too full to walk - tempted to nap on the ground.
 Basking and posing.
 Leaf shower.
 Oooooohhh....
Happy Thanksgiving folks.

oddball

Here's a brief lookie loo from Father's Day (which was on the 15th).
River got his Daddy a special coffee mug from snapfish.com for a Father's Day gift. Well I bought it, and.... you know what I mean...

Later that day...
With nothing planned for the rest of the day, we decided to try out this fancy kiddie pool that was given to us as a gift a few weeks ago.

The word got out that we were having waterific fun...
Hello company!
And then this happened:
My husband bought this giant vinyl banner from a company that installs and removes them from billboards. Instead of throwing the banners away, the company sell them for super cheap to be used as tarps and anything else you can imagine.
We used ours as a giant redneck slip-n-slide.
Welcome to the trailer park life.
I hope everyone had a great Father's Day weekend!
See ya laters.
11 weeks left.
