I made it from scratch

Alright, alright, simmer down. I know I'm late with my weekly blog post. You just couldn't make it through the weekend without me, huh? You cried yourself to sleep at night, you had fits and withdrawals and you probably even got sick at the thought that I might never come back to the blogging world.
Well, never fear. Here I is... am. Here I am.
And I'm wearing another scarf turned vest thingy.
Click HERE to find out how to make your own.
I took a lot of  photos this weekend but I'm nice enough to put them in collages for you. Why don't all bloggers do that? It should be a frggin' law. Don't make people scroll through twenty-one photos of you in slightly different poses from one to the next featuring each dang piece of clothing and jewelry you have on. We get it! You look great, ok?! My finger hurts! Scroll, scroll, scroll.
Ugh, and mom bloggers are the worse.. with the kids and photos of their food and Starbucks. How many different angles of your skinny latte do you really feel people need to see?!?!?
I've pretty much given up on mom-blogs. Not mine. I like mine. I mean... the others... {cue the ominous music and lightening strike}
So as you'll see in the photos below we took the kiddos to the park. This was the first time Cedar's got to experience it. And by experience it, I mean... eat gravel.

Cedar's sunbath Sunday morning. She doesn't get out much and was starting to look a little jaundicy. Or so I think. I could just be a paranoid mama. Either way, a little sun won't hurt.
And River got his first real ouchie this weekend. I wasn't there to witness the accident, I just heard the thud and the heart breaking cry of pain coming from the hallway. From the looks of it, I think he caught a jutting hinge on the door to his nursery. It started off as a little scratch but the next morning it looked like this. He's doing just fine now, though. He's a tough kid.

And I found this happy guy waiting for me yesterday morning. I guess the farmer lady we get our eggs from has some seriously jolly chickens.
So that's it for now. Time to go get caught up with blog reading, blog posting on the other blog, faire stuff, faire fundraiser stuff, faire sponsorship stuff, more blog stuff, baby stuff, cooking stuff, drinking gin at noon stuff... you know. The usual.

LATERS!

Oh, and if you like parenting stuff, go check out my other blog. Please.

flow day

 I need a nap.
I need a muthah flippin nap.
I feel like I got intimate with a vampire last night.
Just plain drained.
But I've got too much to do! Instead of napping, I'm gonna blog here... and then read your blogs and then pimp my other blog and then cook dinner and then get on Pinterest and then promote my other blog some more and then read more blogs and then clean the kitchen and then milk the cow and darn the socks and....
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
Anywho. Here's a boring outfit I wore to church with my favorite eBay score necklace.

Earlier this week
IT SNOWED.
I know some of you are like "big woop" and some of you are like "DON'T SAY SNOW!"
Well, too bad. Snow. Snow. SNOW.
It hasn't really snowed here in two years and I wanted my babies to see snow for the first time SO badly!
Hooray for 3X coats that fit over baby carriers. It was super duper cold. I only have dresses and leggings for "going out" duds so I wore my pj pants over yoga pants and some hideous hiking boots I keep on hand in case of the zombie apocalypse and of course no makeup.

The schools shut down, the roads closed and even my husband got two days off from work.
Four inches of snow for us here in East TX is quite a bit and we're just not equipped for it.

A snowball fight with the neighbors.

 WINTER WAR!!
River got caught in the icy crossfire and got petty upset about it.

 All dry and warm!!
What's next for us?
Weird weather.
So how's the weather where you are?
Seen any dinosaurs lately?

do a little dance

My week.
We had a mouse invader for the first time in three years. He was living in the kitchen, the nasty bugger. I saw him once- he was fat and had no tail. Yeah. Anyways, three years ago it wasn't a mouse we had. It wasn't even mice plural. It was rats... disgusting baby rats. We caught THREE of them back to back to back. Have you ever caught a rat in a sticky trap? The sound they make is unbelievable!! They screeeeeeeech like pterodactyls!! It's awful! Thank God I never saw mama rat or I would have burned that apartment down.
Oh yeah, and that was also the year we had a squirrel living in our closet for about a week.
It. Ate. Everything. You think mice are destructive? You should see the kind of damage a squirrel can do. I'll tell you more about that effin' destructo-squirrel later.
I spent all week getting my other blog up and running and chocked full of ads. Yeah (hangs head in shame) there are ads on here too. Sorry.
No! You know what? I'm NOT sorry. I need money!
What else? What else? Oh yeah! I added three whole sentences to my novel. WOO! I'm on a roll!
Nah, seriously though, it's going well. I'm confident that its going to be a good read and I hope to be finished by 2026.
 So here's this weeks nails...
And I got three new bangles for my little collection. They're 99 cents on Ebay and they're made of Tibetan silver so they don't rust or change colors or anything like that.
And I also got this pretty little lady for my bling arachnid collection from eBay for less than $2. Isn't she purty?!?! I can't wait to find a chain for her.
And here's the husband sporting his "man bun" whilst being hypnotized by Vincent Price.

So, I gotta go now. It's time to go eat stuff and write stuff, and pin stuff and do other...stuff.
Ok bye.

come hide with me

Before I get started on this post, I'd like to point out that I'm not posing in this photo. My husband took a pic of me talking and scratching the corner of my mouth at the same time. I'm just so stinking adorable that it came out looking like this. Saaaarcasm.  And forgive my weird muscly Popeye the Sailor Man forearm. I'm a very  um.... athletically built woman and I have to be very careful with my poses or else I'll look like - well... this.
Athletically built - I guess the sport in my case would be sumo wrestling...
Is this better? I have been told that I am rather intimating with my Samoan-esque physique. I'm 5'6, well over 200 lbs and I have the natural build of a heavyweight boxer. I can't help it! Even in my thinner days I was still a larger muscular woman. She Hulk smash!!! ROAR!! Me nice like a kitty. See?
Sooooo moving on. Here's what I wore to church this morning. Heck yeah I wear sundresses in the fall.
Outfit Under $25
Dress: Ross Dress for Less
Jacket: www.599fashion.com
Leggings: Walmart
Boots: Hand-me-downs
NEW (to me) embroidered bag - Salvation Army
NEW (to you) necklace - Ebay for $4!!
Sugar skull ring - Ebay 99 cents.
Red gem ring - FOUND!
River's outfit was pretty spectacular today. The top and bottom are from www.FabKids.com
Never heard of it? Good. Thinking about signing up? DON'T unless you've got $30 a month to waste for a "free" monthly outfit. Ugh. Dang fine print.
And here's what I'm into these days:
This LA Colors brand nail polish: $1 a bottle and it comes in pretty bangin' colors. YEAH! Er, sorry for my gross cuticles. I personally don't care that they're shredded, but I am sorry if seeing them offends you...
I'm not sorry.
Yeah I am.
No, I'm not...
Now that I'm 100% healed up from the c-section, I'm getting back into dancing to shake off the baby weight... er and the weight I gained from the first baby too. I've already lost 3 lbs in a week. YAY! Sadie Marquardt and tribal fusion belly dancer Rachel Brice have been my virtual coaches. Oh Sadie! Isn't she gorgeous!
Oh yeah. A couple of posts ago, I wrote about my buys from the faire. Well, I forgot two things: this handmade wall hanging - very appropriate for me as a dancer and drummer...
...and this gorgeous Indian umbrella. It was a steal at $15!
And lookee who's learning to smile!
She's not very good at it yet, but when she does give me a little grin I'm all butter in the knees!
And before I go, here's a tasty treat fer ya:
